Consistency Over Intensity

I used this sound in an Instagram Reel from Simon Sinek (YouTube Video below) and I just love his example.

He talks about Consistency and Intensity. Consistency can drive you to work towards and achieve long term goals. Intensity is for a short period of time and results may not be seen. Consistency is the day in and day out work put in and build good habits. Not to say that Intensity is a bad thing and should never be implemented, it actually supports those bursts of work that build up to long term goals. Those smaller intensities accrue over time to build longer term habits. Intensity sharpens the focus and attention and drives us.

Instead of selecting the most drastic change (ie nutrition plan, exercise routine, or financial strategy, etc), you may want to consider the intervention/strategy that is realistic for YOU! Even though it may seem small and simple, it’s important to be self-aware of where you are currently are and can commit to.

How to be more Consistent:

  • Focus on a goal

  • Commit to a Schedule

  • Avoid Distractions

  • Focus on small daily wins

  • Use Reminders
